Swallow tanager

Photo of a Swallow Tanager by J.H. Ribot, Walsrode Zoo 1998. This tanager is mostly found in the rainforest in the south of Suriname but even there it is rare. Breeding in Suriname has been reported by Harry Robert. he saw swallow tanagers flying from holes in a riverbank along the Sipaliwini river.

Each small square indicates the observation of at least one (group) of these birds in Suriname, the medium ones at least 4 observations on different days and the largest ones 10 or more. The color of each square indicates: blue for coastal area, yellow for savanna and red for rainforest.
