Two photos of a Guyanan toucanet made by Steven Wytema in Suriname in 2005. In the second picture this tucan is eating the fruit of the kumbu palm (Oenocarpus bacaba). Below a photo made by Dominiek Plouvier in Suriname in 1986. The Guianan toucanet is almost exclusively found in the forest and savanna region. There it lives in small flocks in the tree tops where they eat fruits(as in all three pictures (unknown, oenocarpus and Cecropia). A maximum of ten is reported in the same group, but mostly a pair is found. They make a rattling sound and a yelling call.
