First a photo of a Black-faced Tanager made by Pieter Verheij in Suriname in january 2007. Then one made made in the birdcage of mr. Luchmun, Paramaribo (Ribot). This last bird is in the shadow for half of his body. This tanager is common in open savanna with low bushes as can be found near Zandery airport.
Each small square indicates the observation of at least one (group) of these birds, the medium ones at least 4 observations on different days and the largest ones 10 or more. The color of each square indicates: blue for coastal area, yellow for savanna and red for rainforest. The bird is common in savanna, rare in the coastal area.
