Photo of a Caica Parrot made by Foek Chin Joe in Suriname. The Caica parrots have a black head, an orange brown ring around their neck and blue and black on their wings, but the main color is clearly green. Their eyes are orange, as is just visible here. It is rather scarce in Suriname, most observations come from Raleigh Falls nature reserve. In French Guiana Alexandre Renaudier taped the sound of the Caica Parrot near Mana in the beginning of 2009.
Each small square indicates the observation of at least one (group) of these birds, the medium ones at least 4 observations on different days and the largest ones 10 or more. The color of each square indicates: blue for coastal area, yellow for savanna and red for rainforest.
