The first photo was made by Louis des Tombe in Suriname in October 2007, the second one by Pascal Dubois in French Guyane (Côté Nature). Squirrel cuckoos move (high) through the trees as squirrels, hopping along the branches, but then often glide on their wings a small distance to another place. It eats insects. In Suriname it can be found almost everywhere where there are trees.
Each small square indicates the observation of at least one (group) of these birds, the medium ones at least 4 observations on different days and the largest ones 10 or more. The color of each square indicates: blue for coastal area, yellow for savanna and red for rainforest.
