Photo, made in a lagune in the east of Suriname (Krofajapasi), by Arie Spaans and one from Foek Chin Joe near Weg naar Zee in Suriname. The stilt sandpiper has a long straight bill and long legs. It is a migrant coming from North America, but they can be found in all months in Suriname especially in lagoons along the coast.

Each small square indicates the observation of at least one (group) of these birds, the medium ones at least 4 observations on different days and the largest ones 10 or more. The color of each square indicates: blue for coastal area, yellow for savanna and red for rainforest. It was found in all months of the year. Mostly seen along the coast, but also on ricefields and rarely in savanna.
