Photo of a Fulvous Shrike-tanager, made by Takano in the Brownsberg Nature Park in August 2004. It is a black and orange bird, that is rather noisy. This is a sound of a Fulvous Shrike-tanager, recorded by Wytema, also on the Brownsberg in 2005. Fulvous Shrike-tanagers are often seen as part of a flock of different species that together search for insects in the forest. The Shrike-tanagers pick up in flight the insects that react to the presence of the flock.
Each small square indicates the observation of at least one (group) of these birds, the medium ones at least 4 observations on different days and the largest ones 10 or more. The color of each square indicates: blue for coastal area, yellow for savanna and red for rainforest.
