, white-faced whistling-duck
Photos by J.H.Ribot, made in Walsrode. The bird is only seldomly reported in Suriname, as can be seen below. Penard (1908) remarks that it is common in swampy savanna, but that seems to be history. It can make a whistling noise when it flies.
