Above a photo of a Long-tailed Tyrant, made by Foek Chin Joe in Suriname and then three photos by Carl Beel along the Pikin Rio also in Suriname, December 2009. This tyrant flycatcher has a very long tail, some 14 cm, half the total length of the bird. It is black except for the white cap and the white on its back. Long-tailed Tyrants can often be found near their favorite spot, catching bees.

Each small square indicates the observation of at least one (group) of these birds, the medium ones at least 4 observations on different days and the largest ones 10 or more. The color of each square indicates: blue for coastal area, yellow for savanna and red for rainforest.
