Southern Beardless-tyrannulet

Three beautiful pictures of a Southern Beardless Tyrannulet building its nest, made by Carl Beel in August 2009. Then a photo of a Southern Beardless Tyrannulet, made by Foek Chin Joe in the north of Paramaribo (Tourtonne) in May of 2005. These tyrannulets are difficult to identify if you do not know the sound, but they are common almost in every part of Suriname.

Each small square indicates the observation in Suriname of at least one (group) of these birds, the medium ones at least 4 observations on different days and the largest ones 10 or more. The color of each square indicates: blue for coastal area, yellow for savanna and red for rainforest.
