Cinnamon attila

Photos of a Cinnamon Attila, the first one by Foek Chin Joe made in July 2006 at Morgenstond near Paramaribo, the second one by Steven Wytema in Suriname in 2005. The Attila is very rare in the rainforest, but often heard or seen in and around Paramaribo (Weg naar Zee, Tourtonne zes, Cultuurtuin, Peperpot) in tree stands near water. Its song can resemble that of the other attila, the Bright-rumped attila. This is a call of the Cinnamon Attila, recorded at Charlesburg by Ribot in 2006. Tony Henneberg made a film of a nest of this Attila at Gummels farm near Paramaribo in January 2008.

Each small square indicates the observation of at least one (group) of these birds, the medium ones at least 4 observations on different days and the largest ones 10 or more. The color of each square indicates: blue for coastal area, yellow for savanna and red for rainforest.
